This week in early June 2020 was highly emotional and intense throughout the world. In this first ‘musing’ I shared the way I choose to show up on social media.

Also, I share my take on some of the the leadership implications of the decisions made by Femke Halsema, the mayor of Amsterdam, regarding a demonstration in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, held here. The fact that she allowed the demo to go on, even when the turn out was much higher than expected and didn’t allow for people to keep a 1,5 meter distance from each other led to a lot of critique.

Being alone as a leader isn’t always easy, but be prepared to handle it in an authentic way, as this is bound to happen at some point in your career (and most likely more than once!).
